What we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We collect only what your order needs — and we never sell it.

Last updated: 8 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information FakeSmile collects when you use fakesmilestore.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Short version: we collect only what’s needed to take your order and get it to you, and we never sell your data.

1. Who we are

FakeSmile (“FakeSmile”, “we”, “us”) is an independent streetwear label based at 16 Iyabo Arole Street, Ikorodu Grammar School, Lagos, Nigeria. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. Contact: fakeasmile29@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

When you place an order
Name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the items you ordered, and the order total. Payment is taken by Nomba on their secure page — we never see or store your card number; we receive only a payment reference and success/failure status.
When you contact us
Your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message (contact form, email, or WhatsApp).
Newsletter
Your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
Automatically
Your approximate country (derived from your IP address) so we can show prices in Naira or Pounds; basic technical logs kept by our hosting provider (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
In your browser
Your cart, currency preference, exchange-rate cache and order history are stored in your browser’s local storage so they persist between visits. This data stays on your device — see our Cookie Policy.

3. How we use it

  • To fulfil your order — process payment, make and pack your items, deliver them, and send order and shipping confirmations. (Legal basis: performance of a contract.)
  • To support you — answer questions, handle returns and exchanges. (Contract / legitimate interests.)
  • To show the right currency — detect your country once so prices display in ₦ or £. (Legitimate interests.)
  • To send drop alerts — only if you subscribe; every email has an unsubscribe link. (Consent.)
  • To keep the site secure and comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting records. (Legitimate interests / legal obligation.)

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don’t use it for third-party advertising.

4. Who we share it with

Only service providers that help us run the store, and only the data they need:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, customers or the public. Some providers are located outside Nigeria and the UK; where that’s the case they operate under their own published privacy and security commitments.

5. How long we keep it

  • Order records: kept for as long as needed for tax, accounting and warranty purposes (typically up to 6 years).
  • Support messages: kept until your query is resolved, then for a reasonable period in case of follow-up.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Browser local storage: stays on your device until you clear it — we can’t access it remotely.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, for UK customers, the UK GDPR — you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Ask us to delete your information where we no longer need it.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter) at any time.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority — the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

To exercise any of these, email fakeasmile29@gmail.com. We’ll respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity first.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. Payments are handled by a PCI-compliant processor so card data never reaches us. Order data is stored with access controls and is only handled by the people who need it to fulfil your order. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Children

fakesmilestore.com is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the store evolves. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
