The plain-language rules for buying from fakesmilestore.com — products, pricing, payment, delivery, returns and your rights.

These terms govern every purchase from fakesmilestore.com. By placing an order you agree to them. They’re written to be read — if anything is unclear, ask us before you buy.

1. About us

fakesmilestore.com is operated by FakeSmile (“FakeSmile”, “we”, “us”), an independent streetwear label founded in 2023 and based at 16 Iyabo Arole Street, Ikorodu Grammar School, Lagos, Nigeria. Email: fakeasmile29@gmail.com. This website is our only official online store.

2. Products & availability

  • All products are original FakeSmile designs made in Lagos. Colours may vary slightly from photographs depending on your screen.
  • Pieces are produced in limited runs. Items marked “Coming Soon” are not yet available to purchase and their listing is for information only.
  • Matching tops and bottoms shown as sets (e.g. hoodie + joggers, jersey + shorts) are sold as one complete outfit at one price. Adding either piece to the cart adds the set.
  • We may withdraw or change a product at any time. If an item you ordered becomes unavailable we’ll tell you promptly and refund you in full.

3. Pricing & currency

  • Prices are set in Nigerian Naira (₦). For shoppers outside Nigeria we display an equivalent in British Pounds (£) converted at the live market rate; the amount actually charged is in Naira.
  • The price shown for each item is the price you pay for that item. A small flat VAT contribution (currently £0.90 per order, or its Naira equivalent) is shown as a separate line at checkout and included in the total.
  • Shipping is included — no delivery fee is added at checkout. Import duties or taxes charged by a destination country are the recipient’s responsibility (see Shipping & Delivery).
  • We do our best to keep prices accurate. If a pricing error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised as a mistake, we may cancel the order and refund you.

4. Orders & payment

  • An order is placed when you complete checkout and payment is authorised. We accept it when we send your order confirmation email; a contract is formed at that point.
  • Payment is processed by Nomba on its secure hosted page. Accepted methods: Visa, Mastercard and Verve cards, bank transfer and USSD. We never receive your card details.
  • Orders for which payment is not completed are not accepted and are not reserved.
  • You may change or cancel an order free of charge at any time before dispatch by contacting us. After dispatch, our Returns & Exchanges policy applies.
  • We may refuse or cancel an order where we suspect fraud, where stock is unavailable, or where a pricing error has occurred. Any payment taken will be refunded in full.

5. Promo codes

Promo codes are applied in the cart, one per order, and cannot be exchanged for cash. We may withdraw or change a code at any time. Codes shared publicly by us are intended for individual customers, not resellers.

6. Delivery

Delivery timelines and details are set out in our Shipping & Delivery policy, which forms part of these terms. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery; ownership passes once payment has cleared.

7. Returns, exchanges & refunds

Our Returns & Exchanges policy forms part of these terms: 14 days from delivery for unworn items with tags attached; custom and made-to-order pieces are final sale unless faulty. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Custom orders

Bespoke pieces (custom colourways, sizing or designs) are quoted and agreed individually on WhatsApp or email before work begins. The agreed price, deposit (if any), timeline and specification form the contract for that piece. Because they are made specifically for you, custom orders cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty.

9. Intellectual property

The FakeSmile name, logo, brick crest, “Smile Even If It’s Fake” and “Fake A Smile” wordmarks, product designs, photographs and website content belong to FakeSmile. You may share our content for personal, non-commercial purposes with credit; you may not reproduce our designs, sell counterfeit versions, or use our branding without written permission.

10. Using the site

You agree not to misuse the site — including attempting to gain unauthorised access, interfering with its operation, placing fraudulent orders, or scraping content for commercial use. We may suspend access for anyone who does.

11. Liability

We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, up to the value of the order concerned. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses, or for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control (courier failures, customs holds, strikes, extreme weather). Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of UK law and may bring proceedings in the UK.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
